RECAP: JEFF THE BROTHERHOOD AT MARKET HOTEL
Jake and Jamin Orall make up the duo of Jeff The Brotherhood, they've been around for a while and have a number of records out. This show was just past part of their tour for their new album Zone, and while this show was all fun and great, the beginning of the tour had a couple of bumps; both of Jake's custom made guitars were stolen in Nashville. Despite this, Jeff The Brotherhood put on a great show as they came out shredding through NYC.
NYC locals "Stuyedeyed" opened the show but could easily be their own headliners. They put on an intense show led by their front man Nelson Espinal whom I was focused on the entire set. Shortly after "Music Band" came on, who have been supporting Jeff The Brotherhood throughout their entire tour. They offered a pleasant contrast from Jeff the Brotherhood with their very mellow and enjoyable pop rock. They felt like a nice breather between Stuyedeyed and Jeff The Brotherhood who had more heavy sets.
Within seconds of the first song on Jeff The Brotherhood's set, the pushing and shoving began, then finally the beer was airborne. Jeff The Brotherhood never fails to nail the psychedelia in their shows. The steady drumbeats and the slow and heavy guitar riffs intertwine in order to provide you with trance. Jeff The Brotherhood ended the set with their single "Whatever I Want" which was a great song to bring the set and the night to an end.
